“Mister Dosti” is a project that originates from the literature. In 2010, the Mr. Dosti was finished, and published only in a few copies, as a volume with Albanian stories. The text itself features various types of writings such as: poetry, notes, projects, pieces of texts from various artists, translations, newspaper articles etc. which start in 2005. All these texts were reviewed, thus creating Mr. Dosti during 2006-2010. The book is currently being translated in Italian. The second part of the project is the making of a sculpture which will be transformed into a “floor” and that is because the original manuscripts and photocopied pages of Mr. Dosti were used in order to build the “floor”. Size A4 papers are attached to each other, forming 80 formats, each with the same dimensions: 88x69cm. Following this, various paintings and drawings were performed on the formats, until 2010 when the process was finished, by using black acrylic paints to vertically cover half of the formats. This marks the beginning of the making of the sculpture. Each format is put in a black frame and all frames are placed next to each other, thus forming a new unique format: a floor on top of a floor. The idea of the ‘floor’ came from the Mr. Dosti project itself. The book was written during many years, and then the process of reviewing and structuring it in order to make it a volume of stories thus becoming a layer, a top of a layer project. The same idea was used with the 80 paintings on the formats. They are put on top of each other in various periods. Both processes resemble the process of street reconstruction, where the layers of asphalt are put on top of each other, or how cities are built on the top of the old ruins.
