Jerusalem, Israel
In 1998 Esther Shalev-Gerz proposed the intervention Tower (Without Walls) to the city of Jerusalem. The project consisted of imagining Jerusalem without city walls, by projecting the image of the streets located on the other side onto the outside of the perimeter wall, in memory of the appropriation of territories by the Jews in Palestine in the 1930s, in the form of villages consisting of towers encircled by walls (Homa u-Migdal). So far the project has not been implemented.
