Museum of Rene’s Contemporary Art Rene has produced too much Artstuff. He likes all of it and he has been able to afford to keep it all in storage. His website (www.reneprice.ca) presents 1000 of his more than 2000 3D, 2D, painted, photo, video, installation and performance master works. He has broken his compulsive prolificacy down into the following themes – SUBURBIART, MOTOART, CROSSART, ECOART, MINORITYART, NAKEDART, ARTART, WARART, FACEART, NICEART and BUREAUCRATICART. His kind of art doesn’t sell (unless you are famous) so a while ago, tired of trucking his stuff all over the place for art shows and having to truck it back later, he decided to create a museum for himself, using his savings and some inheritance money. This non-profit silly artopia would allow visitors to take away anything they liked from the museum, for FREE, as this would make room for Rene to continue making more & more & more, till he croaks. Herein is presented only one of 2 or 3 concepts that he considered for it, as your entry form basically only allows for one idea to be submitted. The first image shows a line of 20 or so 53’ (16 meter) long derelict truck trailers full of his satirical Art. They would be located on farm land, far from art viewers. Stacked in front of the trailers would be the cafe/gift shop in traditional containers. No artist workshop here though, as who would want to work in a tin box. The second attached image is of a model of the mirrored MOTOART trailer interior. I’m not going to attempt to rationalize why my art deserves this kind of recognition or that I could expect anyone to keep MORCA going after I go to ART heaven ……………even if I were able to pull it off.
