Heim im Licht Project's model 1:250. Photovoltaic system, conic structure of black rubber with thermal insulation and internal controlled conditions of temperature, humidity and air circulation. ∅ 4,5m x 3m. Inside the structure: young oak tree in leaves.
Projected for the winter time, at the ruins of Antikesaal, University of Arts Berlin. 2009
Heim in Licht is a system of local production, transformation and consumption of energy aiming the construction of an environment favorable to the development of life, here presented in the sprout of leaves. Inside the structure one find a young oak tree in leaves, whose cycle has been changed due to the manipulation of the mentioned conditions. The energy used to generate light and temperature is provided by photovoltaic technology; the production and flow of energy, from the sun, until the photosynthesis is pointed by measuring tools and graphic material explaining the technology and the botanic process. Starting on January up to the beginning of spring on April, when the outside conditions will be as favorable as inside the house, the structure will be deinstalled and the oak tree planted on earth. Regarding the solar cells, they will be donated to the University, in favor of the local production of energy.
