The project is composed by a series of photograph, a performance, and an installation that will remain after the action. Ahimsa is an ancient Sanskrit term meaning 'do not harm' (literally: the avoidance of violence - himsa). It is an important tenet of the religions that originated in ancient India. Ahimsa is a rule of conduct that bars the killing or injuring of living beings. It is closely connected with the notion that all kinds of violence entail negative karmic consequences. In modern times Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi promoted the principle of ahimsa very successfully by applying it to all spheres of life, particularly to politics. I saved this horse from the slaughterhouse, during my pregnancy. These photos have been shot on the 16th of august 2009, at the end of the 9th month. In the Ahimsa project, for the performance, there will be a path on the ground made by sand. During the opening of the exhibition I will walk barefoot on that sand, with my baby and the horse, leaving our foosteps.
