In 2007 Anthony McCall produced a limited edition number of prints (150) to coincide with his exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery in London. What I’d like to do in this work is try to reunite as many as possible of the prints to be exhibited together for an exhibition.
I own number 20/150 and at the time of purchasing I had to sign a disclaimer which prevented me from selling on the print. I felt though that there were some discrepancies in the form and although I didn’t believe it was properly legally binding, I signed it anyway because I didn’t have any intention of selling it. The whole process of the logistics of this work would open up an interesting journey into data protection, ownership, value, legality and possession.
As part of the project I would also like to document the spaces where the prints are hung in the owners personal space.
