BLUE LASER LIGHT PIECE

The location could be any small town or an area of a big town which has buildings that house many different religions. Sites: The highest point on each of the religious buildings. Materials: Blue laser light mechanisms, power sources and mirrors. Concept:Point a blue laser light beam (from the top of a religious building) at a mirror on the top of the nearest religious building and then direct the mirror so the blue laser light goes to the top (where the mirror is) of the next nearest house of worship and then the next and so on. (At some point, the beam will not be strong enough, so more blue laser light mechanisms would be needed to keep the lines of blue light continuing.)

Purpose: For so long people have fought over different religious beliefs. I propose That we get the individual houses of worship…mosques, churches, synagogues, temples to join a web of blue lights connecting them to one another as an agreement of spiritual harmony. Imagine looking up into the night sky and seeing blue lines of light connecting all religions.

THE FINAL RESTING-PLACE FOR THE UNIDENTIFIED REMAINS FROM THE WORLD TRADE CENTER SITE

The building would be in the form of a greenhouse 100 feet long, 30 feet wide, by 20 feet high at the walls, rising to 35 feet in the center. The roof would also be glass and slanted. It would be sited on the North Tower footprint not too far from the south edge. The design of the glass could be made to work with the Daniel Liebeskind design. In the center of the greenhouse would be a large dirt mound ten feet high covered with every kind of lily known to man. The lily is a symbol of rebirth and the variety of lilies would symbolize the variety of people whose lives were lost. There would be a five-foot grass path surrounding the mound. In the four corners, there would be benches for people to rest and contemplate. The smell of the lilies would be powerful and beautiful… reminder of lives lost and the importance of regeneration.
