    The unrealized project Las Spratlys is based on Spratly Islands, a disputed islands claimed by China, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei. The initial concept is to activate these islands by creating a joint venture agreement between these countries in conflict and the Pentagon . By re-purposing US Navy aircraft carriers into floating casino megaresorts, Spratly Islands can be the Las Vegas of Asia.

    Inspired from Las Vegas Strip, the design of the hotels is based on the famous architectural monuments from each countries and also the iconic buildings of Asia . For instance, the Bird’s Nest or the Beijing National Stadium of China, pagodas from Vietnam, a mosque in Brunei etc.

    With no indigenous population, initial surveys show that the islands may contain significant reserves of oil and natural gas which can generate long term energy supply for Las Spratlys.

    This ambitious project is about a possible world that could be build from scratch, a world that could settle indifferences. It is also about the issues on borders or territories, migration and the birth of a new world situated between conflict zones in the new age of global war.
