Bürger Schöpfung Ewigkeit (i.e. Citizen Creation Eternity) is a site specific, temporary project conceived for ,Luisenburg‘ rock labyrinth (Felsenlabyrinth) next to the city of Wunsiedel on the German/Czech border: *Six eye-catching rocks on a loop trail through the forrest which holds the rock labyrinth get wrapped in neon-green, -blue and -yellow elastic fabric. *In 19th century, stonemasons carved more then 30 huge inscriptions into the rocks as traveller‘s commissions. Those get a neon-orange luminescent filling. The inscriptions are graffitis of Romanticism: They worship nature, honor high personalities or preserve the donor‘s names and the dates of their visit. The idea was developped in 2003. It was planned to be staged in 2005, for the 200th anniversary of Prussian Queen Luise‘s visit to Wunsiedel in 1805. Luise was beautiful and died young - in her times she enjoyed pop star status. ,Luisenburg‘ is named after her. Shaping a piece of rough nature to become the ,Luisenburg‘ proves an upcoming self- conciousness of 19th century civil individuals in a still aristocratic society. Bürger Schöpfung Ewigkeit wants to make this visible with the colors and the technical opportunities of the 21st century. All changes are temporary and do no harm to nature. The project never got beyond a first talk with the city‘s mayor. I‘d still like to stage it one day. gabriele juvan www.juvan.de
