METEORITE AL CONTRARIO (INVERTED METEORITE) - 2011 PROJECT. STONE, SPACE MISSION Courtesy the artist

A medium size stone (more or less 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm) is sent into space. Like a meteorite but following an opposite trajectory, that is, instead of landing on Earth it leaves from Earth towards space. In doing so the contemporary technological paradigm is inverted too: usually it follows the logic of the "maximum technology in the minimum space" but in this case it would become “the minimum of technology in the maximum of space”. Moreover the final result of the project would be that this stone is abandoned in the universe to an uknown destiny and with unpredictable consequences. In order to realize the project the collaboration of a space delivery cargo agency (like European Space Agency - Arianne or Soyuz) is necessary. Being the costs of such missions extremely high the project consists, as a first phase, in a fund rising with private sponsors or insitutional supports. The launch is planned for 2020.
