Having gone through more than sufficient amounts of red tape, I procured permission to acquire shredded U.S. currency from a Federal Reserve Bank located in downtown Baltimore. Over the course of a few months, I picked up an estimated 40-50 million dollars in this, a material that the feds (too perfectly) refer to as “residue”, which is now stored in my studio. I have produced a proto-type of the final project, a 1/2 scale model of a cinder block, and it is my intention to cast many of these units and to then produce architectural models of Utopia which will, almost certainly, assume the form of cul-de-sacs.
