The Queen’s Sconce brief: to enhance the new Queen’s Sconce bridge, which was installed in summer 2010. The commission - to respond to the new bridge, the setting, Civil War History and the story of the Sconce itself. The existing design takes its inspiration from the parabolic curve of a cannon ball in flight.

Drawings never submitted. The project was realized in my fantasy and on paper using pencil, ink and red oil pastel. There I could capture the concept of revolution, romance, murder, divine revelation and resistance. In this state of being unrealized three dimensionally there remains the potential of realization in the ideal sense, and on paper the potential remains to contain the vastness and depth of the stories and legends that lie below the surface of this location.
