“Art at the service of …,Short history”- a series of 5-7 sculptures represents monuments that were destroyed at various times around the world. Each sculpture consists of a scaled down replica of a monument on a pedestal. A short note with dates of completion-demolition and a short history of a monument will be engraved on a metal plate and mounted on a pedestal.

Examples of monuments will be from a wide range of regions, from ancient times to present, from religious to civic but all of them were taken down by humans. Ones all of them were at the service during its time and all demolished as a sign of new times and often as a political statement.

Some examples that we are considering:

    1. Buddhas of Bamiyan Bamyan, Afganistan 554 -2001

    2. Stalin's Monument Prague, Czech Republic 1955-1962

    3. Saddam Hussein's Statue Baghdad, Iraq 2001-2003

    4. Colossus of Rhodes Greece 280 BC -226 BC

    5. Goddess of Democracy; Beijing, People's Republic of China. 10 m (33 ft). Completed and destroyed in 1989.
