Proposal 3: Sculpture Installation Location: Convention Center Boulevard, Canal Boulevard

For this project, two standard bus stop shelters will be installed in two locations. The appearance, dimensions and scale of these awnings will match those seen elsewhere in the city. Initially, they might provide an invitation to wait for transit, but upon closer inspection one will notice that these shelters are however, not marked and unofficial. As the viewer or unsuspecting individuals stand within the artwork, they experience what hundreds of stranded evacuees did in the days following hurricane Katrina. This sculpture installation subtly provides a further opportunity to reflect on those events.
