C.Q., 2010 honey jars, cosmetic containers, lipsticks, glue, mirror

C.Q. is a maquette study for a fantastical monument, a ‘Disney Palace on acid’, a tribute to Beauty. It is an arrangement of cosmetics that are used as pigments to add tones to the structure. The used-up lipsticks and honey jars are dismantled and melted. The intent of this unrealised project is that it would have been a colossal architecture with reflective surfaces created from glass, silicone, sticky decomposing cosmetics and honey. It would be an accessible fortress that one could approach but cannot fully enter as there would be no entry points. The interiors would be luminated with intense spotlights. An interactive environment would be formed where one would be encouraged to access and explore only through climbing the exterior of the structure, through silicone ropes and improvised stepping-stones to follow an indeterminate route.
