If I had the space and time I would develop a new idea that has become central to my work that I have not been able to play around with as much as I would have liked. I have started to make small painting installations that are about deconstructing a painting, and had an idea to stack my paintings in bookshelves and other furniture to show the edges of a canvas like spines of a book. I wanted to make a library of paintings where a whole room is lined with paintings, but with only the edges visible. I can not do this as I do not have enough paintings to fill a room, I can not afford to buy the materials, or have the time to labour over the construction of so many stretchers – but the image remains in my mind as a an unachievable goal I aspire to.
