A SCULPTURE ON ANOTHER SCULPTURE An artwork by Eduardo Villanueva. Through the appropriation of an existing sculpture, I will intervene the same sculpture by altering it and doing another sculpture above the pre-existing one, acting as the pattern of the plant called: ¨ Mal de ojo ¨- or Evil Eye ( Viscum Album ) a plant that acts as a plant parasite, that lives and feeds in another one of the same species. In like Manner, my sculpture will be fed from another preexisting sculpture. The form that will take the sculpture is Inspired by the shape of the plant and also by the action of the Mexican Charro ¨ or horseman, when he shows off the skills in ¨ la reata floreada ¨, an action made with the rope in the ¨ Charreria ¨, the national sport by excellence, that provoque the invisiblemovements of the wake or trail, Trough the circular and oval shapes that are made when the charro practice this action. I start from the idea of using this imaginary movements combined with the behavor of the plant and materialize them in a simple form, to provide some movement to my sculpture. The Material of the sculpture will be a plastic hose for a electric use in orange color, the color of the plant.
