Synopsis When a snowball slides down a hill, it gathers more snow, becoming bigger and bigger until it can, ultimately, start an avalanche. This analogy is used to explain the success of a certain action. In order to achieve the best result it is fundamental to choose the steepness of the hill: if it is not steep enough the ball will never gain momentum; if it is too steep, the velocity will keep the ball from gaining volume, consistency and control of its path. This proposal aims to revitalise the "cliché". Hannah Arendt says an action will only be political when it shifts out of the private field and becomes public. The plurality of spectators who can simultaneously engage in any intervention process in the public space leads to the unpredictability of the results and, eventually to its exponentiality. She says that the world, in its middle acting, splits men while bringing them together at the same time. In modern times work has become the social life organizer by excellence; it incorporates men both as producers and consumers but it is still by acting that man expresses its singularity. Allowing the expression of diversity - in values, feelings, cultures, interests - the public realm promotes conflict more than consensus. The Polis is not Athens but the Athenians; so a moving Agora is proposed in this work, allowing free individual expression. What would you choose to say if you could be heard by a crowd? Which question would you ask, whom would you accuse, what would you complain of, what would you propose? From Lisboa to Constantinople. One motorhome with a trailer, one table, two computers, liquid glue, a brush, pens, pencils, a lot of paper squares, two digital panels. Time. The willingness to give a voice to unknown people. The decision to give up control of the result, navigating an unpredictable ocean. Description An equipped motorhome for two people with two digital panels on the top, each linked to a laptop inside and a trailer with the growing snow/paperball. This motorhome will start its journey in Lisboa - Portugal, making several stops along the way until it gets to Istanbul (former Constantinople) just in time for the biennal. Inside, small square papers where people can write what they wish in one sentence, which will be digitalized and immediately displayed on the digital panels. Then they will glue the piece of paper on the ever-growing ball on the trailer. snowball
