This photo installation is concern with the materialization of Chinese trans-sexuality during the early twenty first century; a trans-sexuality that acts upon a semiotic deconstruction of the body as a signifier, thus becoming the agent of processes of gender construction, transgression and transformation. This gender production describes and is in-scripted in the social mapping of sexual behavior, and it’s articulated through emotional and mythological implications related to category formation of "male" and "female" paradigms. A semiotic exchange by which gender becomes the conceptual stage for negotiating sexuality, forging as well a cultural ground that provides transsexuals, transgender and cross dresser individuals with the resources they needed to negotiate their presence in contemporary China.
