A cube with a side measurement of 9 mm, consisting of two transverse sections: one of pine and the other of oak, trees that represented mythical beings in the cosmology of the Tupi Indians, beings whose correlation (mistakenly interpreted by the Jesuits as the god Tapa) provided the appearance of Fire - by friction between the two pieces of wood. The work was intended to constitute an exhibition by itself, occupying an area of at least 200msquared.

*Originially published in Ronaldo Brito and Eudoro Augusto Macieira de Sousa, Cildo Meireles, Arte Brasileria Contemporànea, FUNARTE, Rio de Janeiro 1981.
