Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans. -Jacques Yves Cousteau
I am working using well-known objects as well as invisible devices. Creating multidimensional collage using public space and air-filled containers, paper scraps, color. Harnessing invisible power of natural wastes to fuel a meeting place, a spectacle, a quiet space for contemplation. We must become more aware and efficient, re-using resources, sharing space and breath. My work involves bringing people together in spaces which are constructed and inflated using recycled materials. Plastics and fabrics held together with thread give way to forced air-flow from H-VAC systems and open doorways, creating inhabitable spaces for meeting, sharing meals and taking notes.
Breathing Rooms is a series of actions and spaces constructed around the idea of the privatization and censorship of public spaces and resources. These spaces pose as research academies, performance environments and social gathering spaces, initiating a community mind through shared agendas and engaging individuals to interact unusually within public spaces.

These spaces pose as research academies, performance environments and social gathering spaces, initiating a community mind through shared agendas and engaging individuals to interact unusually within public spaces. Discussions occur on topics such as public healthcare, the history of flying and Allan Kaprow's '18 Happenings in 6 parts'. Meals of truffle-oil mushroom risotto and kale sauteed with garlic and beet juice have been served over candlelight and under video projection of the sun.
An inflated space is constructed using sewn-together nylon material. Light is captured and refracting within a vacuum of raw color volume. The space is gently swaying as inhabitants gather together to get their footing. Fresh are ideas of perspective, dimensionality and visual stimuli.
b. A space is filled with separate chambers for sound/performance/video to occur within. These chambers are constructed of natural wood or fabric and isolated from outside space. Separate events may take place in separate chambers, or simultaneous events taking place may coincide with those happening in nearby spaces. Portions of each event may sync up with other events occurring in separate spaces, creating an echo effect. Happenings outside of the spaces may also work together with those within chambers, so as to unify the space and ethereal surrounding elements.
