    THE SHIP OF NO PLACE

    Inspired by Thomas More’s 1615 fiction, Utopia – travelers’ voyages of discovering the new utopian island. The Ship of No Place is an artist traveling residency project taking place on a crew ship. The ship will set up its journey begins from the River Thames and its final designation Cabo Frio, Brazil as the book described on the exploration map. A group of artists, curators and writers will be invited to get on board from different countries and cities. As the ship is sailing around, the numbers of passengers will increase slowly when picking up new participants.

    Each participant will be offered a bedroom and a studio space for making new work. There are communal and project spaces where everyone can experiment/present new work and test out new ideas as well as collaborate with other members. Members can organized various activities, which maybe connect or relevant to their practice. The Ship of No Place will offer artists, curators and writers an unusual platform to develop work and to create shared experience in between the participants that may lead towards to future collaboration.
