I've had the idea for some time now of creating a viral YouTube video of tube/train/subway/bus passengers just missing their train/tube/bus. I tried filming a few times from within a train, hoping that some passengers would have the door closed on them before they can enter (I know it sounds a bit mean, but it's art, and everybody likes a bit of schadenfreude ;-) Unfortunately, capturing these moments takes a very long time, and I have yet to get enough footage for a viral video. I think the video should be about 2 minutes long, and show a different passenger missing their train every 5 seconds. I also tried filming from a bus-station bench, and waiting for that awkward and frustrating moment. I realized that such a project might be a bit dangerous as the passenger might be angry towards me for filming their embarrassing response to missing their transportation. At least on the train, if the passenger doesn't make it, I'd remain safe within the train while they would be stranded behind. There were no such assurances for filming from outside, and even on the train, there was always the unlikely possibility that the passenger door would open for a second time and they would still get on the train/bus. In short, the project involves considerable risk and a great deal of patience. Nevertheless, I hope it comes to fruition some day.
